Treatment Experience and Philosophy:
Kathie received her Master's of Social Work in 1986 from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. After working in residential treatment and psychiatric hospital settings, she maintained a private practice in West Allis for 13 years. She displays a strong ability to integrate life experineces with her professional education and clinical training for a wide-range of clientele, particularly as a long time resident of the culturally diverse Milwaukee area. Her training in hypnosis and solution-focused therapy provides a sound basis for adopting the language of change and identifying the solution within the client, while maintaining a specific focus and clarity of goals. She is adept at creating a therapeutic environment which encompasses support, validation, humor, and direction within which the client can make the necessary changes.
