Anxiety and Panic

 

Anxiety is a very common problem, however it often gets significant enough to interfere with personal relationships, jobs, and one's own physical health. Worry, tension, avoidance, overreactions, etc. all can be destructive if not managed effectively. Treatment helps you understand your thinking process, your feelings and the behaviors that are causing excess anxiety. It guides you in understanding what to do (or not do), and how to make behavioral changes that can help make life more comfortable and productive. Panic can be treated. This is often an extreme fear (or fears) that takes over and disables individuals. Treatment focuses on identifying and changing rehearsed thoughts associated with the triggers for fears, threats and panic. Medications may be a beneficial part of this treatment.
